大学卒業後、音楽専門学校に入学し、在学中『ソロギターのしらべ』の著書でもある南澤大介氏に師事。
ギターをパーカッションのように叩き、リズムを繰り出しながら同時にコードとメロディを奏でるそのスタイルは動画投稿サイトで話題になり、注目を浴びる。
2011年デビューアルバム「FRIEND」をリリースし、演奏技術はさることながら、その洗練された作曲能力や、オープン・チューニングを駆使した独特なカヴァー曲アレンジなどによって世界中から絶賛され、現在YouTubeの総動画再生数は2,600万回を超える。
ソロギタリストとして全国でのライブ活動を中心に、楽譜制作、ギター講師など多岐に活躍しており、雑誌「Acoustic Guitar Book Presents Solo Guitar Special」では、アコギ・シーンを牽引する若手ソロギタリスト４人の１人として紹介された。
その中でも、特殊奏法を巧みに取り入れた表現力の高さを称され、松井自身が開発し得意とする、スラップでボディを叩き、パーカッシヴに音を出しながらストロークする"スラップ&ストローク奏法"の修得術を紹介している。
2013年より毎年、地元横浜の関内ホールでソロライブを行っており、近年では中国、香港、台湾、韓国、ベトナム、アメリカでのソロライブを開催するなど海外での評価も高く、今後も世界での活躍が期待されている。
Yuki Matsui is a Fingerstyle Guitarist born in Yokohama, Japan.
Yuki started playing the guitar when he was 14 years old and learned how to play it on his own.
He creates beats by hitting the strings and the guitar top, and simultaneously plays chord and melody.
This play style allows him to play multiple parts of a musical arrangement which would normally be played by several band members.
His unique various techniques such as open tuning and tapping, and sophisticated composition skills didn’t take much time to fascinate people all over the world.
The videos of him playing the guitar on YouTube have been played more than 23 million times in the world.
Every year since 2013, Yuki has carried out a solo concert at the Yokohama Kannai Hall.
In recent years, he performed in Asia such as China, Hong-Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam and US, and he has been highly praised both at home and abroad.
His future success is greatly anticipated.
