Renowned and appreciated by her sensitive, creative and emotionally engaging performances, Veronica Yen has emerged as one of Asia’s most beloved award winning international artistes of her generation.

 

Veronica performs extensively in continental Europe, Asia and North America. She has given recitals at various prestigious venues such as: Chopin's Residence, the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh, the Teatro Marcello in Rome and Vredenburg in Holland, JinWan Grand Theatre in Tianjin and Poly Grand Concert Hall in Henan, to name a few. 

 

More About Veronica

 

Originally from Taiwan, where she still resides, Veronica Graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London with ‘Distinction’. While reading Art History and Architecture History at Edinburgh University, Veronica won various piano competitions including the 1st prize and Contemporary Music Award at the International Students Piano Competition in Holland, performing Grieg's famous Piano concerto in the final, receiving a standing ovation. Veronica studied with Professor Patsy Toh and Joanna Macgregor at RAM, with Peter Evans in Edinburgh, and with Professor Irina Zaritskaya and Janusz Piotrowicz privately. As a result of her musical achievements, the Taiwanese Government named Veronica ‘Best Youth Overseas’.

 

Veronica has performed at many Festivals, including the Rome National Festival (at Teatro Marcello and Villa Tolornia), the Salzburg Festival and the Edinburgh Festival (Reid Concert Hall) with critical acclaim. In 2013, Veronica was invited to give masterclasses at the Victoria Conservatory in Canada, and featured in articles by The Times and the Colonist. She has collaborated with pre-eminent performers like; guitarist Xue-Fei Yang and baritone John Morgan from the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Richard Rittelmaan from Lyon Opera and with the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra's concert tour in Taiwan. On several occasions, Veronica has been invited by the Taiwanese Embassy to perform cultural evenings internationally for various European Ambassadors and dignitaries.   

 

 With feedback such as “magical” and “tears in my eyes”, Veronica has headlined on various luxury cruise liners to very appreciative and enthusiastic audiences, presenting an eclectic mix of programmes appealing to all tastes, with an emphasis on familiar and engaging pieces, often including repertoire reflecting the musical heritage of countries visited. 

 

Veronica’s recent engagements took her to; Edinburgh Festival, Japan, Iceland, Tianjin, Taiwan and during ‘lockdown’, was invited by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines to post a virtual concert for their social media platforms.
