Sheet Music For String

Originally written for harpsichord but later popularized as a piece for beginners on piano and keyboards in general, the "Minuet in G Major" is a musical composition that, for a long time, was mistakenly attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach. Currently, the true authorship of the "Minuet in G Major" is credited to Christian Petzold, a contemporary of Bach and a German organist from the 17th century.

The confusion in authorship arose due to a catalog of Bach's works compiled by Wilhelm Rust, which included the piece under Bach's name, despite clear evidence that he is not the composer.

The piece is part of the "Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach," a music notebook written around 1725, used by Anna Magdalena, the second wife of Johann Sebastian Bach.
